About Us
Darchei Neshima Association – for patients with asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis in Israel, was established at the initiative of Dr. Amir Bar-Shai. The association received approval from the Registrar of Associations on August 31, 2020; its number is 580707628.
Vision
Darchei Neshima Association was established to ease the lives of patients and their families with airway diseases, such as Asthma, COPD, and Bronchiectasis, and to assist in their joint representation in medical institutions and government bodies with professionalism, fairness, transparency, and faith in the way.
Objectives
1. Raising awareness of the general population and medical community about airway diseases.
2. Providing response and support to patients and their families and assisting in realizing their rights.
3. Promoting adding medical services and treatments to the health basket.
4. Assisting in establishing systems for proper management and improving the quality of life of patients with airway diseases and their families.
5. Assisting in disease prevention and promoting research and development in the field of airway diseases.
Awareness and Education
- Establishing support centers for patients' families and workshops for appropriate lifestyles.
- Raising awareness in the media and social networks.
- Assisting in building education systems to prevent illness in the community: schools, kindergartens, workplaces.
- Holding annual conferences for patients, their families, doctors, and medical teams.
- Collaborating with professional bodies, health funds, and experts in relevant fields.
Promoting Treatment
- Assisting in establishing support centers in medical centers and pulmonary medicine clinics.
- Raising patients' needs to the public and political agenda and promoting regulation in the field.
- Pooling innovative and groundbreaking information and providing a platform for experts in the field.
Deepening Understanding and Research
- Encouraging experts, caregivers, and patients to join the association's activities and clinical and pre-clinical research.
- Mapping the needs of association members and developing proposals for guidance and assistance.
- Collaborating with the Israeli Association of Pulmonology and similar organizations in Israel and worldwide.
To promote its objectives, the association is led by a volunteer board of directors acting with loyalty and transparency, managed by its CEO. It encourages members and stakeholders to participate in its activities.
